LIST OF COMPUTER BULLETIN BOARDS IN THE 313 AREA CODE
As of September 7, 1987
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SPECIAL EXTRACT FROM THE COMPLETE LIST FOR THE FLINT AREA ONLY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
DEVELOPED BY CROSS-REFERENCING THE FULL LIST
AND THE LIST OF FLINT LOCAL EXCHANGES
IN THE FLINT AREA TELEPHONE DIRECTORY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is 313BBS10.LST, the tenth update of this list of active computer
bulletin boards (BBS) in the 313 area. It includes about 35 brand new
numbers that were not included on previous lists. And, I have again
also included some numbers that had been confirmed (C) on earlier
lists, but when I called to re-confirm the systems did not answer
(indicated by N/A in the STATUS column). They may still be active and
I may have called just when they were "down" for some reason. If there
is no answer next time I call, they will be removed from future lists.
No list is perfect, but I have connected with all of the BBS systems
included here. Systems which have given me problems are indicated by a
"C??" in the STATUS column. That usually means that a modem answers,
but the system does not respond to keyboard input or crashes suddenly.
>>WARNING -- Since BBS systems come and go very quickly, this
list may already be obsolete the day after it is released. Any
one of these numbers could be "bad" by the time you get around
to calling it. Please monitor all modem calls and don't just
endlessly re-dial the numbers. Please be courteous. <<<<<<
Most computer bulletin boards welcome ALL callers, no matter what kind
of computer they use. In fact, some systems have no computer-specific
areas at all, just discussion sections on such subjects as technology,
science fiction, world affairs, sports and other topics of general
interest to most people. MANY boards are in dire need of new active
callers, so call around and "adopt" a friendly neighborhood bulletin
board as your own -- the system operators (sysops) will love you for
it. Unfortunately, you will find some systems are extremely restricted
and will not allow access, and some systems require special non-ASCII
codes or special graphics-type modem programs to gain access. The best
way to find out is to give 'em a call. <HORST MANN>
NOTE: I try to be very accurate in preparing this list, but mistakes
can be made. If you find that any of these numbers are incorrect,
please let me know so that I can make changes on future releases.
